Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev claimed his initial title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a former world number one, has endured a torrid year, managing just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in specific - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former coach his previous coach.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court from that period of that year.

Success also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one various events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six finals, including in Halle previously this season.

His counter-punching play style and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had led some to wonder if his capacity to compete at the elite level was finished.

Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, striving to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an improved serve.

He came back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players swapped break points in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional victory, took control to force a decider.

Moutet rescued 4 initial chances in a competitive third set before the Russian broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, the winner earned victory with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
